TECHNIQUEST – New Client
TOR Systems Ltd, the UK’s premier provider of Booking, Ticketing and Admissions Solutions, has been chosen to provide its “Maxim” integrated system to the Techniquest science centre in Cardiff.
Techniquest is an independent registered educational charity, part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. The new Maxim solution will enhance Techniquest “Gift Aid” collection capabilities, in accordance with HMRC 2006 guidelines to charitable bodies.
The chosen system will integrate Admissions, Ticketing, Event Management, Educational and Corporate Bookings. Super fast Chip and Pin pay points will be installed on day one and “queue-busting” Wi-Fi tablet PC’s and TOR’s Real-Time Integrated Web Sales Channel are set to follow.
Overall, the project will include a combination of the latest hardware and software systems available. PC based Touch Screen PoS units, equipped with on-screen keyboard facilities, will interface with industry standard BOCA mini printers to issue high quality souvenir tickets to guests arriving at the attraction.
TOR Systems Ltd Managing Director, Mr Daniel Jordan, stated that TOR were proud to include Techniquest amongst their prestigious clientele, which includes the British Museum, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Imperial War Museum and Glasgow Science Centre. Mr Jordan went on to say that Maxim latest release is fully compatible with integrated Sales and Collection Kiosks, Retail and Catering operations and is intended to allow clients to take full advantage of the latest ticket technologies; including Contactless smart cards, stored value cards and biometrics.
